Managed Care Approaches to Manage COVID-19


Session Description:

COVID-19 has caused significant social and economic disruptions around the world. As quickly as the coronavirus has spread, scientists from all corners of the world have attempted to keep pace with testing investigational new drugs and vaccines as well as repurposing old therapies. This session will review the most recent advances in the development of these therapies, as well as address various questions and concerns that have been raised regarding accessibility, delivery, and administration of treatments. Faculty will discuss best practices for implementing and managing disruption, including creating policies that are dynamic and responsive to the rapidly changing environment and variable federal and state-level guidance.

Learning Objectives:

At the completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
  • Summarize the evidence for recent therapeutic options in use for the treatment of COVID-19
  • Describe strategies to manage the rapid change of COVID-19 related information around therapeutics, supply chain, shortages, regulations, and use of resources
  • Describe effective approaches to support equity and access to COVID-19-related care.
