Activity Description:

In today’s world, healthcare legislation and regulation move at a staggering pace making it difficult for health professionals to keep up. It is vital for managed care professionals to be aware of upcoming legislative and regulatory activity and how to best prepare for potential changes that can impact their practice.  To help managed care professionals keep up to date, AMCP will be offering a webinar with timely updates on the latest federal and state legislative/regulatory trends that are of specific interest to managed care and specialty pharmacy professionals.

Highlights of this webinar include an end of year analysis and environmental outlook of policy activity on the 2020 Congressional and Regulatory calendars. In addition, the webinar will include current developments on Capitol Hill and within federal agencies and states on topics such as the high cost of medications, utilization management, updates on Medicare Parts B and D, and policies related to biologics and biosimilars.

Learning Objectives:   

At the completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Describe at least one proposal that will impact formularies and medication management decisions by health plans in the coming year.
  2. Summarize federal drug pricing proposals from the past year and the potential impact on managed care pharmacy
  3. Discuss at least two major state legislative trends that may have an impact on managed care pharmacy
  4. Identify at least one regulatory action that will impact the practices of managed care pharmacy professionals next year.

Schedule of Educational Activity:

This activity consists of an audio recording, pre-test assessment questions (not required to pass to continue), post-test questions (required to pass with a score of 70% or higher) and a specific activity evaluation. 


The Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.

To receive credit for an online activity you must:

  • Successfully complete the post-test (required to pass with a score of 70% or higher, it may be taken a maximum of three times).
  • Complete a specific activity evaluation.
