Target Audience

This knowledge-based activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of pharmacists, physicians, and nurses in managed care settings.

Program Description: 

Addressing opioid use disorder (OUD) is a top concern for public health improvement. It is important to keep up with current treatment options to optimally treat patients, and while treatments vary by patient, a collaborative team environment is necessary for holistic care management.

This program will describe OUD pipeline medications, including the role of long-acting treatment options, discuss best practices for collaboration in interdisciplinary care management, and review available real-world evidence in OUD management.

Learning Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Identify at least one currently available treatment and at least one in the pipeline and where it may fit into current guidelines for opioid use disorder (OUD).
  2. Review the benefits of different treatment options for OUD, including long-acting formulations.
  3. Identify collaborative best practices for interdisciplinary patient care in the treatment of OUD.
  4. Explain the integration of real-world data to manage patients with OUD.
