Multiple sclerosis is a debilitating, chronic illness and a key driver of medical and pharmacy costs. Managing these costs is challenging, and methods for improving the cost picture are continuously being sought. This session will examine an innovative partnership program that created analytic methods and assessments to target MS patients who could benefit from interventions.
The program’s predictive analytic model uses historical prescription claims to identify patients with expected future high medical spending, along with potential adherence issues. This session will explore the program in-depth, along with the economic and disease burden associated with multiple sclerosis.
At the completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
1. Discuss the disease and economic burden associated with a multiple sclerosis
2. Identify innovative models of care created through a multi-stakeholder and interprofessional approach.
3. Recognize opportunities to incorporate predictive analytic models with a focus on holistic patient care.
